Privacy Policy

This privacy policy applies to the Remo app (hereby referred to as "Application") for mobile devices that was created by Vidus6 (hereby referred to as "Service Provider") as a Freemium service. This service is intended for use "AS IS".

Summary

Remo is a remote control. It talks to your TV over your own Wi-Fi network, it has no user accounts, and it asks you for no personal details. The TVs you pair with, and the pairing credentials your TV issues, are stored only on your device. What leaves your device is anonymous usage and diagnostics telemetry, plus your subscription status.

Information Collection and Use

The Application collects a limited amount of information when you download and use it. This information may include:

  • Technical device and app information, such as your device model, operating system version, application version, interface language and country
  • Anonymous usage events, such as opening the Application, starting a network scan, attempting to connect to a TV, and whether that attempt succeeded or failed — including the TV brand, TV model name and the technical error reason when a connection fails, which the Service Provider uses to fix compatibility problems
  • An anonymous identifier generated by the Application on first launch, used to count sessions and to attach your purchases to your installation
  • Your subscription or purchase status, received from RevenueCat and the Apple App Store

The Application does not require an account, an email address, a phone number or a password, and it does not gather precise information about the location of your mobile device.

The following information is created by the Application and is stored only on your device. It is not transmitted to the Service Provider:

  • The names, brands and local IP addresses of the TVs you choose to pair with
  • The pairing credentials your TV issues to the Application — for example a Samsung access token, an LG client key or the client certificate an Android TV trusts
  • Your app settings, such as language, theme, remote skin and haptic preference

Uninstalling the Application deletes all of this local data.

Local Network Access

To find and control your TV, the Application asks your operating system for permission to communicate with devices on your local network. With that permission the Application sends discovery requests (mDNS/Bonjour and SSDP) and then connects directly to the TV you select, using the protocol that TV brand provides.

These requests and all remote-control commands stay inside your local network and travel directly between your phone and your TV. The Service Provider does not receive, proxy or store the contents of your network, the list of devices found on it, or the commands you send to your TV.

Third Party Access

Only aggregated, anonymized data is periodically transmitted to external services to aid the Service Provider in improving the Application and their service. The Service Provider may share your information with third parties in the ways that are described in this privacy statement.

Please note that the Application utilizes third-party services that have their own Privacy Policy about handling data. Below are the links to the Privacy Policy of the third-party service providers used by the Application:

  • Apple App Store and StoreKit — processes your purchase and manages your subscription. The Service Provider never receives your payment details.
  • RevenueCat — manages subscription entitlements and tells the Application whether your purchase is active.
  • Arislytic — first-party product analytics operated by Vidus6, which receives the anonymous device, app and usage information listed above.

The Application does not include advertising SDKs, and the Service Provider does not sell your information or share it with data brokers.

The Service Provider may disclose the information described above:

  • as required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena, or similar legal process;
  • when they believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect their rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request;
  • with their trusted services providers who work on their behalf, do not have an independent use of the information we disclose to them, and have agreed to adhere to the rules set forth in this privacy statement.

Your Rights Under the GDPR (European Economic Area and Switzerland)

If you are located in the European Economic Area or Switzerland, Vidus6 is the data controller for the information described in this policy. The Service Provider processes it on the basis of its legitimate interest in operating, securing and improving the Application, and on the basis of contract where processing is necessary to deliver a purchase you made.

You have the right to request access to your personal data, its rectification or erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and to object to processing. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your national supervisory authority. Because the Application identifies you only by an anonymous installation identifier and holds no account, the Service Provider may need that identifier from you in order to locate the relevant records. To exercise any of these rights, write to contact@vidus6.com.

Your Rights Under the CCPA/CPRA (California)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information is collected about you, to request its deletion, to request its correction, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. The Service Provider does not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA/CPRA, and does not use it for cross-context behavioural advertising. You will not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights. To submit a request, write to contact@vidus6.com.

Your Rights Under the UK GDPR

If you are located in the United Kingdom, you have the same rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection described in the GDPR section above, and you may lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

Opt-Out Rights

You can stop all collection of information by the Application easily by uninstalling it. You may use the standard uninstall processes as may be available as part of your mobile device or via the mobile application marketplace or network. Uninstalling also deletes the saved TVs, pairing credentials and settings held on your device.

Data Retention Policy

Data stored on your device — saved TVs, pairing credentials and settings — is retained until you delete the Application or remove the TV from within it. Anonymous usage and diagnostics telemetry is retained for up to 24 months and is then deleted or further aggregated. Purchase records are retained for as long as required by Apple and by applicable tax and accounting law. If you would like the Service Provider to delete data associated with your installation, please contact them at contact@vidus6.com and they will respond in a reasonable time.

Children

The Service Provider does not use the Application to knowingly solicit data from or market to children under the age of 13.

The Application does not address anyone under the age of 13. The Service Provider does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13 years of age. In the case the Service Provider discover that a child under 13 has provided personal information, the Service Provider will immediately delete this from their servers. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact the Service Provider (contact@vidus6.com) so that they will be able to take the necessary actions.

Security

The Service Provider is concerned about safeguarding the confidentiality of your information. The Service Provider provides physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect information the Service Provider processes and maintains. Connections between the Application and your TV use the transport security each TV brand provides, and telemetry is transmitted to the Service Provider's analytics service over HTTPS.

Changes

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time for any reason. The Service Provider will notify you of any changes to the Privacy Policy by updating this page with the new Privacy Policy. You are advised to consult this Privacy Policy regularly for any changes, as continued use is deemed approval of all changes.

This privacy policy is effective as of 2026-07-30

Your Consent

By using the Application, you are consenting to the processing of your information as set forth in this Privacy Policy now and as amended by us.

If you have any questions regarding privacy while using the Application, or have questions about the practices, please contact the Service Provider via email at contact@vidus6.com.
