Open Remo on the Same Wi-Fi

Remo scans your home network and lists every TV it finds, with the brand already identified — Roku, Samsung, LG, Android TV, Google TV, Sony, Vizio or Fire TV.

Tap Your TV to Pair

Samsung and LG ask you to approve the phone once on screen. Android TV and Google TV show a 4-digit code you type into Remo. Roku needs no pairing at all.

What is Remo?
Remo is a universal TV remote app for iPhone that controls Roku, Samsung, LG, Android TV, Google TV, Sony, Vizio and Fire TV over your home Wi-Fi. It replaces a lost or broken remote in about 10 seconds and needs no extra hardware, no account and no cables.
Which TVs does Remo work with?
Remo supports 7 smart-TV platforms: Roku (including Roku TVs from TCL and Hisense), Samsung Tizen TVs from 2016 onward, LG webOS TVs, Android TV and Google TV sets from Sony, Philips, TCL, Hisense, Sharp and Xiaomi, Vizio SmartCast, and Amazon Fire TV devices. The TV has to be a smart TV on the same Wi-Fi network — Remo does not use infrared, so it cannot control a TV that is not connected to your network.
Does Remo work like an infrared remote?
No. Remo works over Wi-Fi, because iPhones have no infrared transmitter, so your phone and TV must be on the same network. In exchange you get things infrared cannot do: typing with the phone keyboard, a swipe touchpad, and launching streaming apps directly on the TV.
Why can't Remo find my TV?
Check that the TV is switched on and joined to the same Wi-Fi network as your iPhone, then scan again. Guest networks and routers with AP isolation enabled block device discovery, so both devices need to be on the main network. If your router splits 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz into two separate networks, put the phone on the same band as the TV.
How do I type on the TV with Remo?
Open a search box on the TV, tap the keyboard button in Remo, and type on your phone. The text goes straight to the focused field on the TV, which turns a 30-tap on-screen search into one line of typing. It works on Android TV, Google TV, Samsung, LG, Roku and Fire TV.
Can Remo control more than one TV?
Yes. Remo saves every TV you connect to and reconnects to the last one as soon as you open the app, so a house with a living room TV, a bedroom TV and a Fire TV Stick needs no re-pairing. You switch between them from the device list at the top of the remote.
Is Remo free?
Finding your TV and pairing it is free. Controlling the TV is part of Remo Premium, available as a weekly or yearly subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase, with prices shown in your local currency. Subscriptions renew automatically and can be cancelled any time in your Apple ID settings.
Does Remo work when the TV is switched off?
No. Remo sends commands over the network, so the TV has to be powered on — or in a networked standby that keeps Wi-Fi alive — to receive them. Turning a fully powered-off TV back on still needs the physical remote or the power button on the TV.
